Tell us master, What is Art?
Do you want the philosophers answer or are you seeking the opinion of those wealthy folk who decorate their room with my pictures? Or again, do you want to know, what the bleating herd think of it, as they praise or denigrate my work in speech or written word?”
No, master - what is your own answer?”
After a few moments, Apollonius declared: “ If I see, or hear, or feel anything that another man has done or made, if in this track, that he has left I can perceive a person, his understanding, his desires, his longings, his struggles - that, to me is art.
I. Gall.. Theories of Art.
It is said, that the first half of the 20th Century belonged to Pablo Picasso, and the second half to Photography. Picasso revolutionized the way we think, and look at a work of art, & photography took pedestrian images of 'children at play', 'Hawaiian sunsets' and nature's beauty to heart-stopping heights through dark room manipulations. It is now, as we stand at the threshold of a new age, a new century, that iconoclasts are being born, in the last year of this fading century. It is this generation that will take Creativity to new heights of vision and daring, but they have to be trained to use this faculty and trained by an interdisciplinary team of parents, teachers and now the extended family- the internet .
